SPDT Smart Relay

Question for Aqara. Any plans for a smart relay which supports SPDT (COM + NO + NC)?

Thanks for asking. I’ll forward this to the relevant product team. Do you have any other thoughts about this?

Hello.

If you need a common COM for NO and NC, then such a function can be implemented in T2.

Can you please clarify? As far as I understand, the relay in the T2 is a SPST relay.

I want to implement three-way switching.

Theoretically, if you have a common COM, by selecting the interlock function you simulate NO and NC.

Hello, @European.
ATTENTION!!! When using the interlock mode, do not use the button located on the relay housing. This button will not provide this mode, its function is to control Off/On of two relay contacts. For interlock, when pressing this button, you need to make emergency automation, which will immediately turn off two channels.

I think relying on an emergency automation to fix this bug is also bad advice. If it takes 1.5s to execute the emergency automation then that could be too slow. A lot of damage can occur in 1.5 seconds.

Hello, emergency automation works (practically) instantly. For comparison, video without automation.

Video with automation.

Would you bet the life of your connected electronic devices on it really being “instant”? Would you bet the liability of your advice or Aqara on it being “instant”.

I would not.

@gafich10 Thanks for sharing. Is the interlock function working within the device, e.g. it works independent of the hub even if the hub goes down?

@AqaraSting13 SPDT relays would still be preferable with separate COM being the most flexible solution.

Hi, I’ll check it when I get home and reply. I’ll do it the day after tomorrow.
