Circadian Lighting addoin for Android and Homey!
I have to use a very annoying setup now in order to make this work, would love if you guys supported this also for Non-Apple devices!

Here is my 2 cents worth! I have 6 Aqara LED strips in use and 4 others not in use at this time. After spending a few years with these in my smart home, here is what I can say; Over all I like them and when they work they are wonderful. There is much to like, the premade scenes, the ease of adding them into an automation and the ability to easily control them with other devices, such as a sensor or the wireless switch. The downside, the strips are too short. That would not be a problem if the extensions worked as described. When I remove an extension to add it to a different run of lights, it fails 90-100% of the time. I tried everything to repair, reset, reinstall but there is nothing I’ve found that helps once you remove it from the original strip it was connected to. I would rather cut a longer strip down than to purchase multiple extensions. Having a longer strip would solve a lot of this. I spent way too much money on replacement extensions. I prefer keeping the number of apps or products to a minimum so my home runs smoother. What I would like to see besides longer LED strips are outdoor string lights. Even better a variety of outdoor lights. This would be a game changer for my back yard and porches!

Hi @Jooooa

I absolutely love this about Aqara. having both tested with you, and also being a loyal customer, AND doing reviews of your products, I have noticed that you actually listen to your customers. I think this is one of the main reasons you continue to grow in popularity and have a great reputation. Soooo, here we go with my feedback for you.

  1. Please please please create light bulbs for the UK that have a B22 Bayonet fitting. This would instantly boost sales and mean we wouldn’t have to resort to buying converters. It is a massive pain.
  2. I have multiple LED Strip T1 light strips with extensions. a massive pain point for me is that I have had to get 2 units, each with 8M worth of extensions to go round the top of my living room roof. I have managed to treat the strips as a single unit so they turn on and off with one button. HOWEVER, if I want to put them into party mode (where they react to sound) I have to go into each strip separately. also, at certain light temperatures, there is a buzzing noise that comes from the power units (plugs) that is very annoying. There either needs to be a unit where you can add up to 30M worth of extensions on one unit, or better integration when pairing 2 units together.
  3. on the T1M ceiling lights (which are awesome), I would like to see a brighter secondary light. The one round the outside. It is good, but it needs to be brighter.

Wishlist.

  1. Outdoor dedicated lighting. Dual Zigbee/Thread protocol. this should have a long wire that can be wired into the mains.
  2. New strip light. Again dual Zigbee/Thread. Able to be 30M+ long powered on a dingle unit. Also the LED’s should be of a quality that it shines with a single light, not looking like individual LED’s. I think it’s maybe called COB?
  3. B22 Light bulbs.
  4. Specific motion activated battery powered lights that can be used for stairs/hallways. these should be USB rechargeable. Again Zigbee/Thread if possible.
  5. Outdoor Strip light. fully waterproof with the option of a case?duct that can be screwed onto fencing, or put in the ground. For example to light up pathways or flower beds.
  6. A dedicated bathroom/shower room light. A waterproof version of the T1M maybe? This really is a missing piece of the puzzle as bathrooms often need sturdy lighting that is resistant to moisture. I know it is different, but it relates - a waterproof light switch for bath/shower rooms would also help this gap that we have.

hopefully we can see these come to life.

Hope you have an amazing day!

Hello and thanks for giving us the chance to send you feedback.
In my case I’m still frustrated because I do have 3 H2-US light switches that can’t connect to my M3 via Zigbee. It only pairs via Matter.
I also have a M1S hub and the H2 switches pair flawlessly with it.
It’s frustrating because I can’t use my more advanced M3 for such a basic function.
I’ve approached the customer service team several times and they haven’t been able to solve my problem. They even sent me a new M3, but it’s still the same.
Everything seems to point out to a software bug either in the H2 or the M3 that doesn’t allow this specific pairing.

I would love native zigbee binding for lights and switches. I currently use home assistant and have an aqara switch and the T1M ceiling light and would like to bind the 2 so that they could still work if things go down.

Totally agree with you.the way govee does it is elite. And I would like to see Aqara get to that point

Thanks for the reply! The T2 CCT bulbs support Adaptive Lighting in the Home app via Zigbee, but it doesn’t work over Thread.
I’m looking forward to Thread mode support.
thread mode farmeware version:1.0.2.0

i’m hoping for some rope lights.

In terms of hardware, I’d love for lights to be dimmable to much lower levels.

Software-wise in the Home Assistant camp. I really don’t want to have to use a dozen different apps to control my home. Aqara devices are usually well supported but it’s a shame how crippled Matter compared to ZigBee usually is. I’d love to see a solution to this. Perhaps a custom integration that communicates directly with the devices over Thread (or any other IP-based transport such as WiFi)

Hi @Jooooa ,
thanks for opening this up! I think asking the community for their wishes and pain pints is the best input you could get and is building trust.

Hardware wise I’d love to see a wider variety of devices. The E27 T2 bulbs I have are working great on my end and I’m happy with the color accuracy and the dual protocol option is great as well and a huge plus! But to cover all of the possible lighting scenarios in a home, there should be more types of bulbs (like MR16), stand alone lights, table lamps and ceiling lights.

I have a hallway with 16 MR16 recessed spots running on 12V drivers. To get these smart I had to buy some no name zigbee MR16 bulbs of AliExpress. It seems, there is no Matter or Zigbee-native MR16 bulb from any major smart home brand.

As already brought up here, seeing the ceiling light V1 would be awesome as well!

Software wise, the color picker in the app needs improvements and should definitely contain a hex input.

Thanks for listening to us!

I do not have any of your lights/bulbs
I use primarily Philips Hue (I have over 450 of their products covering all their products and have been using them since they were first released exclusive to Apple)

Things that would entise me to try Aqara lights:

  1. the ceiling light - add a built in presence sensor
    use for entry way/ hallway/ stairwell/ closset

  2. light strips - add outdoor version (I have over 70 of these alone on buildings, light poles and signs)

  3. have automatons in the app to change the rotating of colors of the lights for Christmas/4th of July Fireworks/ Halloween/ New Years
The Philps Hue options for these scenes are unusable and frustrating

HTML Color Picker for Aqara Light Products

Adding an HTML color picker for Aqara smart bulbs and light strips would significantly improve user control and consistency when configuring multiple devices. The picker should support hex codes and RGB input allowing users to select precise colors and immediately apply them to one or multiple devices. When two or more devices are selected, the UI should make it easy to match colors across devices (for example, by applying the same hex/RGB value to all selected devices or offering a “sync color” option).

Benefits:

  • Precise color selection using hex or RGB values.
  • Faster, more reliable color matching across multiple devices.

It’s surprising that such a basic feature has been missing for years.

Hello from South Korea

I would like to share a few suggestions regarding Aqara lighting features:

  1. MARS Tech should support lighting groups
When multiple downlights are installed in one space, applying MARS Tech to each light individually is very inconvenient.
It would be much better if MARS Tech could operate at the lighting group level.

  2. Default mode of the Strip Driver (ZNDDMK11LM)
It would be preferable if the default mode were CCT instead of RGBW.
In most homes, including with many Aqara lighting products, users primarily use CCT lighting rather than RGBW.

  3. Adaptive Lighting in the Aqara app
It is a bit unfortunate that Adaptive Lighting only works in Apple Home.
It would be great if the Aqara app could also automatically adjust brightness and color temperature throughout the day.

  4. Brightness / CCT adjustment without turning power on
Currently, changing brightness or color temperature without powering the light on is only possible with Matter lights.
It would be very helpful if this feature could also be added to Zigbee-based lighting products

Thank you for continuously improving the Aqara

At my home, I buy everything and try it out. I know enough to make this mixed ecosystem work, and I learn what works. But if I install it in someone else’s home, I use Philips Hue lighting. It is “bomb-proof" and reliable. The last thing I want is a call at 2 a.m. saying “lights do not work”. It has to “just work” for YEARS before I would use it at a client location. I will not know until I’ve used it at my home for years. OK, reliability is #1. A close #2 is having a wide range of lighting. Hue wins here. Arara needs to make more stuff to be in the race. That said, I can see in the future Arara being my “go-to" brand. Hubs and matter-bridging and the openness of the system are very good. I suspect reliability will be good, but I can’t know yet. I am optimistic about using Aqara in the future for client projects. Make more different kinds of lights. It would be HUGE if I could pair Hue bulbs with Aqara hub and not need a Home Assistant server to bridge the ecosystems. HA servers do nothing but generate those 2 a.m. phone calls.

Besides what I wrote earlier around lighting etc, the App is somewhat of a mess. I probably run more accessories than most, and having to navigate around to find them can be very time consuming and cumbersome, so easier grouping in the app, would be appreciated. And the process of regrouping seems to only work sometimes and is kinda laggy as well.

With that many accessorise the app feels slow, and one I open the app the different sensors, locks etc takes a while to update, so ideally that would run all the time in the background so that was always updated and ready.

Feel free to reach out for more details.

Besides the room for improvement I 100% love the products and support :pray:t2:

Hi there,

Spot on! I couldn’t agree more—insights rooted in real-world use cases are exactly what we value most.

Regarding your point on light control: technically, our bulbs do support brightness and color temperature adjustments while the light is off. Adjusting the brightness will trigger the light to turn on automatically. However, if you’re accessing the device through a third-party platform, this software behavior might be constrained by their specific integration capabilities.

Finally, thank you for the feedback on the Default Mode for the Strip Driver and Adaptive Lighting in the Aqara app. We’ve added these to our list and will be actively evaluating them for future updates.

Appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Exactly! You hit the nail on the head—using specific color value inputs is the only way to ensure precision and true consistency across multiple devices.

We are already actively evaluating the best implementation plan for this. Thanks for pushing us on this—it’s definitely a priority for us to get this right.

It will be great that @AqaraOfficial bulbs were able to make different light effects, like the smart led strips. Sunsets, Ocean, fire… Can you imagine the E27 T2 making your lamps gorgeous or the GU10 T2 projecting handsome effects to your walls and floors?

Thank you for listening!

Hi @Jooooa
I love the T1 LED Strip, but what about a T2 cob or better yet OmniGlow RGBWWIC one?

Thanks!
