I’m thrilled to share my recent success in integrating the BLU TRV into HomeAssistant 2025/2! It’s been a journey, but seeing everything work seamlessly now is incredibly rewarding. Here’s a quick rundown of my experience:
-
Initial Setup: I started by updating the BLU Gateway Gen3 to the latest firmware version 1.5.0-beta2-gbf89ed5. This was essential as the integration wouldn’t work otherwise. After the update, I noticed the gateway and TRV were automatically detected in the Shelly Integration section of HomeAssistant.
-
Device Detection: Once the firmware was updated, HomeAssistant recognized both the BLU Gateway and the TRV effortlessly. It was amazing to see them appear as new devices without any manual intervention. The integration through BTHome was smooth and hassle-free.
-
Configuration: I configured the TRV to work with my existing heating system. The interface in HomeAssistant made it straightforward to set up schedules and adjust temperatures. The ability to control everything from the dashboard was a game-changer for me.
-
Performance: After setting it up, the TRV has been performing exceptionally well. It maintains the desired temperature consistently and integrates perfectly with my smart home ecosystem. The fact that it can be controlled via voice commands or the HomeAssistant app adds a whole new level of convenience.
-
Tips for Others: If you’re planning to integrate the BLU TRV, make sure to:
- Update the gateway firmware first.
- Use the Shelly Integration in HomeAssistant.
- Double-check the device detection in the developer tools to ensure everything is recognized properly.
This integration has significantly enhanced my smart home setup, and I’m eager to explore more features as I get more comfortable with it. Huge thanks to the HomeAssistant community for their continuous support and updates!
If anyone has questions or needs help with their setup, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to assist!
Cheers,
Andreas
