I’m thrilled to share my recent success in integrating my ceiling fan with the Aeon Minimote! This project has been a fantastic way to enhance my smart home setup, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Initially, I was a bit unsure about how to control the fan speed using the Minimote. After some research, I discovered that using CoRE to create a piston was the perfect solution. By assigning specific button presses to different fan speeds, I was able to streamline the process and make it user-friendly.
One of the challenges I faced was ensuring the buttons were mapped correctly. However, with some trial and error, I found the right configuration. I also explored alternative methods, like smart apps, but CoRE proved to be the most reliable and straightforward option for me.
Here are a few tips I learned along the way:
- Plan Ahead: Map out which buttons you want to assign to which functions before diving into the setup.
- Test Regularly: After each configuration change, test the buttons to ensure they’re working as intended.
- Stay Patient: Integration can take time, but the end result is well worth the effort.
