Successful Integration of Fibaro RGBW Controller with Google Assistant

After struggling with the Fibaro RGBW Controller and Google Assistant integration, I wanted to share my solution and some tips for others facing similar issues. Initially, I faced the same problem where my kitchen island LED strip would shut off when trying to change colors via Google Assistant. It was frustrating, especially since I had set it up as a white LED only.

Here’s what I did to fix it:

  1. Device Configuration: I revisited the device settings in the Homey app and ensured that the Fibaro RGBW Controller was explicitly set to ‘White LED only.’ This step was crucial because even though I had selected this option initially, it seemed like the settings weren’t fully applied.

  2. Scene Setup: I created specific scenes in the Homey app for different lighting modes (e.g., ‘Kitchen Lights On,’ ‘Dim Lights’). This way, I could control the LED strip without accidentally triggering color changes.

  3. Google Assistant Routines: I set up routines in Google Assistant to only control the scenes I had created. For example, saying, ‘Hey Google, turn on kitchen lights’ would activate the predefined scene without attempting to change the color.

  4. Testing and Fine-Tuning: I spent some time testing different commands and ensuring that the LED strip responded correctly. It was a bit tedious, but it paid off in the end.

This experience taught me the importance of double-checking device settings and leveraging scenes for better control. If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, I highly recommend exploring these steps. Happy automating! :rocket:
