I’ve been on a journey to integrate my Google Nest and Tuya devices into Home Assistant, and I wanted to share my experience with the community. Initially, I faced some challenges, especially with the Tuya app not working as expected without the Pro version. I was concerned about how to manage my Zigbee devices effectively without the cloud support. However, after some research and reaching out to the community, I discovered a workaround using a local Zigbee USB stick, which allowed me to connect my Tuya devices directly to Home Assistant. This was a huge relief and opened up a world of possibilities for automating my home. I also explored setting up InfluxDB and Grafana for monitoring my energy usage, which has been incredibly insightful. While I encountered a few bumps along the way, such as issues with old data not showing up in Grafana, the community support was invaluable. I learned that sometimes it’s a matter of ensuring the data is correctly imported and the configurations are properly set. Overall, this experience has taught me the importance of persistence and the power of community support in overcoming technical challenges. I’m now looking forward to expanding my setup further and exploring more advanced automation scenarios. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the discussions and provided helpful tips!
