Successful Integration of Lidl Silvercrest Multiroom Speakers with OpenHAB2

Hi everyone! I’ve been exploring the world of smart home audio systems and recently decided to give the Lidl Silvercrest Multiroom speakers a try. After some research, I found that integrating these devices with OpenHAB2 was a bit of a challenge, but definitely doable. I wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is considering this setup or running into similar issues.First, I purchased the SMRB 40 A1 and SMRS 35 A1 models. The initial setup was straightforward—just plug them in and connect to my home Wi-Fi. However, getting them to work seamlessly with OpenHAB2 required a bit more effort. I stumbled upon a helpful guide that walked me through the necessary configurations, including setting up the Multiroom feature and ensuring all devices communicated properly. One thing I noticed was the importance of firmware updates. After updating the speakers to the latest firmware, the integration became much smoother. I also had to tweak some settings in OpenHAB2 to ensure the devices were recognized and controlled effectively. It was a bit trial and error, but the satisfaction of getting everything to work perfectly was worth it.Now, I can control my Multiroom system through both the Lidl app and OpenHAB2, which is fantastic. The sound quality is excellent, and the Multiroom feature allows me to sync music across different rooms effortlessly. I’m really happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their home audio system without breaking the bank.If anyone has questions about the setup process or needs advice, feel free to reach out! I’d be happy to share more details or troubleshoot any issues you might encounter.
