Successful Integration of Wyze Cam with Alexa for Live Feed on Detection

I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my smart home setup, and one feature that’s been on my wishlist is getting a live video feed on my Echo Show when the Wyze cam detects a person. After some research and trial and error, I managed to crack it! Here’s how I did it and what I learned along the way.

First, I set up the Wyze cam integration with Alexa, which worked seamlessly. The detection alerts were coming through, but I wanted more than just an audio notification—I wanted to see who or what was detected.

I stumbled upon a guide that mentioned using routines in the Alexa app. The idea was to trigger a live view on the Echo Show whenever the Wyze cam detected motion. After a few adjustments, it started working! Now, whenever someone is detected, the Echo Show switches to a brief live feed, giving me a quick visual confirmation.

This setup has been a game-changer for me, especially for monitoring the front door while I’m away. It adds an extra layer of security and peace of mind. If you’re looking to do something similar, I’d recommend starting with the Wyze app integration and then exploring routines in Alexa. The community support here has been invaluable, and I’m excited to share my success story!

Happy smart home tinkering everyone!
