Successful Integration of Yale Smart Locks with Hubitat

I’ve recently completed the migration of my Yale YRD446 smart locks from an older hub to my Hubitat C7. The process was a bit challenging, but I’m thrilled with the results! Here’s a quick rundown of what I learned and how I achieved seamless integration.

Initially, I faced some issues with pairing the locks. After excluding them from the old hub, I used the Hubitat’s Z-Wave exclusion and inclusion process. Secure pairing worked like a charm, but I encountered a hiccup when trying to add users and codes. The generic Z-Wave lock driver didn’t seem to support these features at first glance. However, after some research and reaching out to the community, I discovered that updating the driver and ensuring the latest firmware on the locks made all the difference.

Now, I can add, delete, and manage codes effortlessly through the Hubitat app, both locally and remotely. It’s incredibly satisfying to see everything work so smoothly. I also set up notifications based on which code is used, adding an extra layer of security and convenience.

This experience taught me the importance of community support and the value of persistence when integrating new devices. If anyone else is tackling a similar project, I highly recommend checking out the latest drivers and firmware updates before diving in. Happy automating! :rocket:
