Successful Integration of Zigbee Curtain Motors with Hubitat

I recently embarked on a project to integrate my Zigbee curtain motors with Hubitat using Zigbee2MQTT, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others who might be navigating similar territory.

Initially, everything was running smoothly. My curtain motors were responding perfectly to commands from Hubitat. However, after a power outage and the subsequent installation of ZHA, I noticed that my curtain motors stopped working altogether. This was perplexing, as there were no obvious signs of what went wrong.

I reached out to the community for advice, and the discussion was incredibly helpful. It turns out that Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA can coexist, but they need to be properly configured. The key was understanding how to manage the network settings and ensure that both systems communicate without conflict.

After some trial and error, I discovered that manually resetting the Zigbee network and re-pairing the devices resolved the issue. This involved a bit of troubleshooting, such as checking the logs for error messages and ensuring that all firmware was up to date.

Now, my curtain motors are back in action, and I’ve learned a valuable lesson about the importance of network configuration when integrating multiple smart home systems. If anyone else is facing similar challenges, I’d recommend thoroughly checking the network settings and consulting the community forums for guidance. Happy automating!
