I’ve been tinkering with my Wyze camera setup, and I wanted to share my journey in case it helps others avoid the confusion I faced. Initially, I was frustrated with the camera settings because they seemed scattered across different sections of the app. I wanted to ensure that only smoke and CO alarms triggered notifications, especially since my camera is in a busy living room with lots of ambient noise.
After some trial and error, I realized that the key was to methodically go through each related setting. I started by enabling smoke and CO detection in the Alarm Settings, but I was still getting alerts for other sounds. It turned out that the ‘Detects Sound’ option in both Notifications and Event Recording sections needed to be disabled. This change ensured that only the critical alarms would trigger notifications, which was exactly what I wanted.
I also adjusted the sensitivity settings in Detection Settings to better suit my environment. This process taught me the importance of thoroughly exploring each setting and understanding how they interact. I’m now enjoying a much smoother experience with my Wyze camera, and I hope this helps someone else out there who’s navigating similar waters!
If anyone has additional tips or has encountered similar issues, I’d love to hear about your experiences!
