Successfully Configuring Zigbee Devices with Homey Pro

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my recent success in configuring Zigbee devices with my Homey Pro. After some initial struggles, I managed to create a detailed script that maps out the Zigbee network routes, which has been incredibly helpful for troubleshooting and optimizing my setup. Here’s a quick overview of my experience and the steps I took:

  1. Initial Setup Challenges: When I first started, I encountered issues with device connectivity and inconsistent routing. The Homey Pro’s Zigbee capabilities were promising, but getting everything to work smoothly was a bit overwhelming.

  2. Script Development: Inspired by a thread I found in the community, I decided to create a script that visualizes the Zigbee network routes. This involved running commands in the WebAPI playground and processing the data to generate a map. The script not only helped me understand the network topology but also made it easier to identify problematic nodes.

  3. Learning and Adjustments: Through trial and error, I learned the importance of ensuring all devices are properly meshed and that the coordinator is optimally placed. Adjusting the network settings and updating firmware were also key steps that improved reliability.

  4. Positive Outcomes: The end result was a much more stable and efficient Zigbee network. Devices now communicate seamlessly, and I can confidently add more devices knowing the foundation is solid.

I hope this experience encourages others facing similar challenges to explore scripting and network visualization as tools for enhancing their smart home setups. Happy configuring! :rocket:
