Successfully Configuring Zigbee Outlet as Multi-Endpoint Device

I’ve been working on integrating a new off-brand Zigbee outlet into my Hubitat setup, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others facing similar challenges. Initially, I paired the outlet with firmware 2.3.6, and it appeared as a generic multi-endpoint switch. While I could control it manually, it didn’t integrate seamlessly with my smart home ecosystem. Frustrated but determined, I switched the driver to a generic outlet, which worked temporarily but didn’t solve the underlying issue.

After updating to firmware 2.3.8, I reset the outlet and paired it again. This time, it correctly identified as a multi-endpoint device, and the functionality improved significantly. However, the device still created a child device, which confused my room setup. I reached out to the community for advice and discovered that removing the child device wasn’t straightforward without custom drivers. Despite this, the outlet now works perfectly, and I’m thrilled with the result. It’s a reminder that persistence pays off in smart home setups! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this solution.
