I’ve been on a bit of a journey trying to connect my Arlo Pro 4 cameras and wired doorbell with my new Linksys MX8503 Atlas Max 6E Mesh Wi-Fi System. Initially, everything was working smoothly with my old two-band router, but after upgrading, I ran into some connectivity issues. Let me share my experience and how I resolved it!
First, I tried setting up all three bands (2.4G, 5G, 6G) with the same SSID and password, hoping for seamless integration. However, the doorbell and two of my five cameras wouldn’t connect. The doorbell wouldn’t even chime, and the cameras would time out during setup. I researched online and found some suggestions about isolating the 2.4G band, which I decided to try.
I renamed the 2.4G band to a different SSID and kept the same password. This change worked wonders! The doorbell finally chimed, and the cameras connected without any issues. I was thrilled to see everything working again. I also considered doing a fresh install, but isolating the 2.4G band was the key for me.
This experience taught me the importance of experimenting with network configurations, even if it means taking a step back. If you’re facing similar issues, I recommend trying to isolate the 2.4G band before resorting to a complete reset. It’s amazing how a small tweak can make such a big difference!
I hope this helps someone else who’s struggling with connectivity issues. Happy smart home setup everyone! ![]()
