Successfully Grouping Hue Lights in PocketControl

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in grouping my Hue lights using PocketControl! As a relatively new user to HomeMatic, I was initially overwhelmed by the setup process, but I’m thrilled to finally have everything working smoothly. Here’s my journey:

I’ve been using a CCU3 with Hue devices and the Hue Addon, but I was frustrated with having to control each Hue lamp individually in PocketControl. After some research and experimentation, I figured out how to group my lights, like the six Hue spots in my hallway, into a single entity. This has made controlling them so much easier and more efficient!

Here’s what I did:

  1. Identify the Devices: I first listed out all the Hue lamps I wanted to group together.
  2. Create a Group in CCU3: Using the CCU3 interface, I created a new group and added all the desired Hue lamps to it.
  3. Sync with PocketControl: Once the group was set up in CCU3, I synced it with PocketControl, and voilà! The group appeared as a single entity in the app.

This setup has completely transformed how I manage my lighting. Now, I can adjust the brightness, color, and other settings for an entire group with just one tap. It’s incredibly convenient, especially for large spaces like my hallway.

I’d love to hear from others who have successfully grouped their Hue lights or have any tips for optimizing this process! :star2:
