Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with installing the Danielperna84 integration in Home Assistant. I recently migrated my HA instance from Docker to a VM with HAOS to take full advantage of the add-on support. However, I ran into some issues while trying to install this custom integration, and I thought it might be helpful to document my journey in case others are facing similar challenges.
Initially, I followed the installation instructions from the GitHub repository, but I encountered an error message stating that the integration couldn’t be installed. The UI displayed a warning, which was a bit confusing at first. After some research, I realized that the issue might be related to the version of Home Assistant I was using. I checked the release notes and noticed that the integration requires at least version 2024.1.1, which I already had installed.
I decided to try a different approach. Instead of using the direct installation link from GitHub, I manually downloaded the integration files and placed them in the appropriate directory within my HA configuration. I also made sure to restart Home Assistant after the installation to ensure that the integration was properly recognized. To my delight, it worked perfectly! The integration loaded without any issues, and I was able to connect my Homematic devices seamlessly.
This experience taught me the importance of checking compatibility and documentation thoroughly before attempting any custom installations. It also highlighted the value of community support forums, where I found several helpful tips and troubleshooting guides that ultimately led me to the solution. I’m now able to fully integrate my Homematic setup with Home Assistant, which has greatly enhanced my smart home experience.
