Successfully Installing Wyze Thermostat Without Circuit Board

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience installing the Wyze Thermostat Revolv EB17D unit, as I encountered a common issue that might help others facing the same challenge.

Initially, I was concerned because my system didn’t have a circuit board, which I later found out is quite common. My house is a 6-year-old Palm Harbor Modular home with an air handler system, and I only had a 4-wire setup. The Wyze app guided me through connecting the C-connector to the circuit board, but since mine didn’t have one, I had to think creatively.

After some research, I discovered that it’s possible to use a C-adapter even without a circuit board. I carefully followed the wiring diagram provided by Wyze and took my time to ensure all connections were secure. I also labeled each wire to avoid confusion, which proved to be a smart move.

One hiccup I faced was not having a multimeter to check the 24V supply. However, I found a workaround by using my smartphone’s camera to inspect the wiring and ensure no connections were loose. After several attempts and adjustments, the thermostat finally powered on!

This experience taught me the importance of patience and thorough preparation. If you’re in a similar situation, don’t hesitate to reach out for advice or share your own tips. It’s amazing how a little troubleshooting can lead to a successful installation. Happy smart home hacking! :rocket:
