After struggling with pairing my Schlage Connect lock with the Z-Wave JS integration in Home Assistant, I finally found a solution! Here’s how I did it:
-
Ensure Secure Inclusion is Enabled: Make sure your Z-Wave controller is set to use secure inclusion. This was crucial for me as the lock requires a secure connection.
-
Reset the Schlage Lock: I had to perform a factory reset on the lock by holding the button for 10 seconds until the LED started blinking. This ensures it’s ready for pairing.
-
Start Inclusion in Home Assistant: Go to the Z-Wave JS integration settings, navigate to the ‘Add Node’ section, and start the secure inclusion process.
-
Pair the Lock: Within 30 seconds, press the button on the Schlage lock. The LED on the lock should blink yellow, and after a few moments, it should successfully pair with your controller.
-
Configure the Lock: Once paired, I configured the lock in Home Assistant to control it via the frontend. It’s now fully integrated and works seamlessly!
If you’re having trouble, double-check your network key and ensure all settings are correct. Happy integrating! ![]()
