Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience transitioning from Fibaro HC Lite to Hubitat Elevation (HE). My main goal was to set up heating scheduling, and I decided to start with my HRT4-ZW wall thermostats. The process wasn’t without its challenges, but I managed to get everything working smoothly in the end!
Initially, I faced some issues when trying to include the HRT4 devices into HE. I followed the standard procedure—disassociating from Fibaro, resetting the thermostats, and attempting inclusion. However, both devices failed to connect properly, showing the error message ‘LF (Failed)’ after timing out. I was a bit puzzled since the devices worked fine with Fibaro and I had successfully added another Fibaro motion sensor to HE without any problems.
After some research and trial and error, I discovered that adjusting the Zigbee settings on the HRT4 devices made a significant difference. I also ensured that the devices were in close proximity to the HE controller during the inclusion process. This small tweak seemed to resolve the issue, and now both thermostats are functioning perfectly within my HE setup.
I wanted to document my experience in case anyone else is going through a similar transition. It’s important to remember that sometimes minor adjustments can make all the difference when integrating devices from different ecosystems. I’m really happy with how everything is working now and look forward to exploring more features of HE!
If anyone has tips or experiences related to integrating Fibaro devices with HE, I’d love to hear about them. Happy smart home tinkering! ![]()
