Recently, I embarked on a project to integrate my HeatMiser smart plugs into my OpenHAB setup. Initially, I was a bit overwhelmed, as the process wasn’t as straightforward as I had hoped. After some research, I discovered that the NeoHub binding didn’t natively support these plugs, which was a bit discouraging. However, I decided to dive into the code and see if I could make it work.\After inspecting the binding code on GitHub, I identified a few areas where I could add support for the NeoPlugs. It was a bit of a learning curve, but I managed to make some adjustments that allowed the plugs to be recognized and controlled within OpenHAB. The sense of accomplishment when I finally saw them appear in my items file was incredible!\This experience taught me the value of persistence and the joy of solving technical challenges. If anyone else is looking to integrate HeatMiser plugs, I’d be happy to share the code changes I made. Let’s continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible with our smart home setups!
