Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with integrating IKEA Trådfri remote controls for multiple rooms. I recently faced an issue where my E1810 remotes were controlling lights across all rooms instead of just their designated ones. This was quite frustrating, especially since I wanted each remote to only affect its specific room. After some research and trial and error, I found a solution that worked perfectly for me!
First, I realized that the issue was with how the remotes were paired with the bulbs. Initially, they were connected through the IKEA gateway, but this setup caused the remotes to control all connected bulbs regardless of their location. To fix this, I decided to use Homey, which allowed me to create separate rooms and assign specific bulbs to each one. By doing this, I could ensure that each remote was linked only to the bulbs in its respective room.
The process involved setting up each room individually within Homey and then pairing the remote with the bulbs in that room. It was a bit time-consuming, but the result was worth it. Now, each remote only controls the lights in its designated room, making my smart home setup much more organized and user-friendly.
I also found that using the Homey app made it easier to manage and troubleshoot these connections. If anyone else is having similar issues, I highly recommend checking out Homey’s integration options. It’s been a game-changer for me!
