Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I wanted to share my recent experience integrating my Nibe heat pump with Home Assistant. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I managed to get everything up and running smoothly. Here’s how it went down. The Setup I have a Nibe Alpha Innotec Split 12 (SHK200S) heat pump, which I wanted to connect to my HA setup using the Nibe GW. The heat pump was already configured with Modbus enabled, and I had the Nibe GW set up on my network. Everything seemed in place, but when I tried to add the integration in HA, I encountered an error: “Error on read request from pump. Verify your Remote read port or Remote address.” The Puzzle At first, I was a bit puzzled. I double-checked all the settings—IP addresses, ports, and Modbus configurations. Everything looked correct, but the error persisted. I started to wonder if it was a hardware issue or perhaps a misconfiguration on my end.The Solution After some research and troubleshooting, I realized that the issue might be related to the Modbus settings on the heat pump itself. I decided to dig deeper into the heat pump’s configuration menu. Lo and behold, I found that the Modbus slave ID wasn’t set correctly. Once I adjusted this setting to match the one configured in HA, the integration worked like a charm!Lessons Learned This experience taught me the importance of thoroughly checking every configuration detail, even if they seem minor. It also highlighted the value of community support and documentation. If you’re facing similar issues, don’t hesitate to reach out for help or consult the official documentation.Final Thoughts Integrating my Nibe heat pump with HA has been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. It’s now seamlessly integrated, providing real-time monitoring and control of my heating system. If you’re considering a similar setup, I highly recommend taking the time to understand every step of the process. The payoff is well worth the effort!Cheers to all the fellow smart home enthusiasts out there—let’s keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible! ![]()
