Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in integrating Philips Hue bulbs into my Homey setup without using a bridge. It’s always been a bit of a hassle for me, but I found a clever workaround using an Alexa device, which I’d like to walk you through.
First, I downloaded the Alexa app and tried adding a Philips Hue bulb. Unfortunately, it failed because the bulb was already connected to another system. However, Alexa provided a helpful reset option. I followed the prompts, entered the bulb’s serial number (found on the packaging), and the reset was successful.
At this point, Alexa started searching for the bulb, so I quickly closed the app to prevent it from claiming the bulb. I then opened the Homey app, went to the device search section, selected Zigbee, and proceeded with the setup. I turned the bulb off and on a few times, and voilà! Homey detected the bulb and added it seamlessly.
This method worked like a charm, and I’m thrilled to have my Philips Hue bulbs integrated into my smart home ecosystem without the need for a bridge. It’s been a smooth experience, and I’m now enjoying full control over my lighting through Homey.
If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, I highly recommend giving this method a try. It’s a simple yet effective solution that saved me from unnecessary hassle. Happy integrating everyone!
