Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience and success in integrating a Shelly i4 and Shelly 2.5 for remote control. I’ve been exploring the world of smart home automation, and this setup has really taken my system to the next level! Here’s how I made it work:
First, I connected my Shelly i4 to a 230V switch. The goal was to use the Shelly i4 as a hub to control a Shelly 2.5 unit via the Shelly app. Initially, I was a bit unsure about the compatibility and whether it would require any programming knowledge, but I’m happy to say it was surprisingly straightforward!
I started by carefully following the wiring instructions to ensure everything was connected safely. Once the hardware setup was done, I opened the Shelly app and went through the pairing process. The app made it really easy to set up the devices and create the necessary automation rules. I didn’t need any programming skills—everything was handled through the app’s interface.
After pairing, I tested the system by toggling the switch on my Shelly i4. Almost instantly, the Shelly 2.5 responded, turning on and off as expected. The delay was minimal, which was a pleasant surprise. I was worried there might be a lag, but it’s practically instantaneous!
This setup has been incredibly useful for controlling my outdoor lights. Now, I can switch them on and off from anywhere using my smartphone, which is a huge convenience. It’s also given me the flexibility to expand my smart home system in the future without worrying about compatibility issues.
I’d like to thank the Shelly community for creating such user-friendly devices and providing excellent support through their app. If anyone else is looking to integrate Shelly devices, I highly recommend giving this setup a try—it’s both practical and easy to implement!
