Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience integrating my smart lock with Google Home. It was a bit of a challenge at first, but I managed to get everything working smoothly. Here’s what I did:
First, I purchased a smart lock that was advertised as compatible with Google Home. However, when I tried to connect it through the Google Home app, it didn’t show up in the list of available devices. I was a bit frustrated, but I decided to dig deeper.
I started by checking the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings on my phone to ensure everything was working properly. Then, I reset the smart lock to its factory settings and tried the setup process again. Still no luck. I decided to reach out to the manufacturer’s customer support, and they suggested checking if my Google account had the necessary permissions enabled.
After reviewing my account settings, I realized that I had disabled some permissions related to smart home devices. I re-enabled them and gave it another try. This time, the lock appeared in the Google Home app, and I was able to pair it without any issues!
Since then, I’ve been using voice commands to lock and unlock my door, and it’s been working perfectly. I also set up some routines, like automatically unlocking the door when I arrive home. It’s been a great addition to my smart home setup!
If anyone else is having trouble integrating their smart lock with Google Home, I recommend checking your account permissions and ensuring your device is fully reset before attempting the setup again. Happy tinkering! ![]()
