Successfully Integrating SmartThings with Philips Hue Ecosystem

I’ve been on a journey to create a seamless smart home experience, and I’m thrilled to share my progress. My home is heavily invested in the Philips Hue ecosystem, which I’ve carefully curated to make life easier for everyone, especially those who aren’t tech-savvy. The Hue Dimmer switch at the main entrance and the Hue button by the bedside are my crown jewels, programmed to shut off all the lights with a simple press.

However, I faced a challenge with two non-smart light fixtures that I couldn’t replace. I wondered if I could integrate a smart switch with my existing Hue setup. After some research, I discovered that using a SmartThings hub allowed me to link a GE or Lutron smart switch to the Hue dimmer switch. This integration meant that pressing the off switch would now control both the Hue lights and the smart switch, creating a unified system.

I’m curious if others have had success with similar setups or if there are preferred switches that work best with SmartThings. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I’m excited to explore more possibilities with my smart home setup. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them!
