Successfully Integrating Velux Shutter with Qubino ZMNHOD1

I wanted to share my recent success in integrating my Velux roller shutters with Home Assistant using the Qubino ZMNHOD1 Flush Shutter DC module. After some research and troubleshooting, I found this setup to be reliable and efficient. Here’s how I did it:

  1. Hardware Setup: I connected each Velux shutter to the Qubino module, ensuring proper wiring for the 24VDC supply. The MeanWell IRM-30-24ST power supply was a perfect fit for this project.

  2. Home Assistant Configuration: I added the Qubino modules as zwave devices in my Home Assistant setup. The integration was smooth, and I could control the shutters directly from the HA interface.

  3. Automation: I set up a simple automation to close the shutters at sunset and open them at sunrise. This has been working flawlessly for weeks now!

Challenges Faced: Initially, I was concerned about compatibility since the Velux shutters were designed for Somfy’s proprietary protocol. However, the Qubino module proved to be a great alternative, eliminating the need for additional Somfy hardware.

Tips for Others: If you’re considering this setup, make sure to test the power supply and wiring thoroughly before integrating with HA. Also, familiarize yourself with the zwave configuration options in Home Assistant to optimize performance.

This project has significantly enhanced my home automation setup, and I’m excited to explore more possibilities with Home Assistant. If anyone has questions or needs advice, feel free to reach out!

Happy automating! :rocket:
