I wanted to share my recent success in integrating Zigbee devices into my smart home setup, as well as some tips that might help others facing similar challenges. After experimenting with various configurations, I managed to seamlessly integrate 16 Innr RS-226 Zigbee GU10 dimmable lights into my system using the HUSBZB-1 USB Zwave/Zigbee Hub. This experience has been both rewarding and educational!
Initially, I faced some hurdles when setting up dimmer groups for different areas of my home—Entrance, Salon, and Bedroom. Creating these groups required assigning each bulb to its respective location and configuring sliders in the Sitemap for both group control and individual adjustments. While the setup worked, there were a couple of quirks that needed addressing.
One issue was that when adjusting the brightness of all bulbs in a group, not all bulbs would consistently reach the desired level. Additionally, the slider would occasionally reset to zero after a short delay. After some research and tweaking, I discovered that adjusting the update intervals and ensuring all bulbs were on the same Zigbee channel helped stabilize the performance. It’s important to note that patience and iterative testing are key when working with Zigbee devices!
For anyone looking to create dimmer groups, I recommend starting with smaller group sizes to identify any problematic devices early on. Also, ensuring that all bulbs are firmware-updated can make a significant difference in reliability. If you’re encountering similar issues, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share more specific configurations or troubleshoot together!
Happy smart home tinkering!
