Successfully Migrating Z-Wave Devices from OpenHAB to Ring Alarm

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience of migrating Z-Wave devices from OpenHAB to Ring Alarm. It was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to figure it out with some research and persistence. Here’s how it went down.First, I realized that I wanted to integrate my Z-Wave devices with Ring Alarm for better security and automation. However, my devices were already paired with OpenHAB, so I needed to remove them from OpenHAB before adding them to Ring Alarm. I followed the steps in OpenHAB to set the devices as failed and remove them, but initially, I couldn’t get Ring Alarm to recognize them. I tried resetting the devices multiple times, but nothing worked. After some frustration, I decided to look for solutions online. I found a helpful guide that suggested using the Z-Wave Configuration Tool to remove the devices entirely from the network. This was a bit daunting, but it worked! Once the devices were completely removed, I was able to add them to Ring Alarm without any issues. The process taught me a lot about Z-Wave device management and the importance of thorough research. I’m now happily using my devices with Ring Alarm, and it’s been a great addition to my smart home setup. If anyone else is going through a similar situation, I hope this helps you save some time and avoid the headaches I encountered.Happy tinkering everyone! :rocket:
