Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with pairing the door sensors from the Smart Things Home Monitoring Kit. Initially, I was a bit frustrated because while the motion sensor and outlet plug paired without any issues, the door sensors were giving me a hard time. I tried everything—rebooting the hub, pulling the batteries multiple times, and following all the instructions in the app. Nothing worked at first, and I was starting to think there might be something wrong with the sensors themselves.
But then I remembered reading somewhere that sometimes the order in which you press the button and insert the battery can make a difference. So, I decided to give it another shot, this time being extra careful with the timing. I pressed the button on the hub first, waited for the LED to start flashing, and then quickly inserted the battery into the sensor. To my relief, it worked! The sensor paired successfully, and I could see it in the app.
This experience taught me the importance of patience and attention to detail when setting up new devices. It also reminded me how helpful this community is. If anyone else is having trouble with their door sensors, don’t hesitate to ask for help here. We’re all in this together, and there’s always a solution out there!
