Recently, I encountered a frustrating issue with my Kasa Wi-Fi switches after upgrading my Unifi network. Despite configuring everything correctly, my switches were no longer connecting to Home Assistant. The error messages indicated that HA was looking for IPs in the wrong subnet, which was perplexing since the switches were correctly assigned to the 192.168.20.xxx VLAN.After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered that manually re-adding each static IP in the TP-Link Smart Home app resolved the issue. This simple yet effective solution allowed the switches to reconnect seamlessly with Home Assistant. I’m relieved that this fix worked, especially since my Kasa app could still control the switches, confirming that the devices themselves were functional. This experience highlighted the importance of double-checking network configurations, especially after hardware upgrades. I’m grateful to the community for providing insights and solutions that helped me overcome this challenge. If anyone else faces similar issues, I recommend verifying static IP assignments and ensuring all configurations are correctly propagated across the network.
