Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with using the EU version of the Hubitat C7 hub in North America. After doing some research and reaching out to the community, I found a solution that worked perfectly for my setup. Here’s how I did it:
First, I purchased the EU version of the Hubitat C7 hub. I was initially concerned about compatibility, especially since my existing devices were configured for the North American market. However, I discovered that the EU version supports the same Z-Wave frequency as the NA version, so it was safe to pair it with my existing devices.
I decided to use the EU hub exclusively for my Qubino 0-10V dimmers, which are EU-only devices. This way, I could ensure optimal performance without interfering with my other NA devices. To power the EU hub, I simply used a US power adapter, which worked seamlessly without any issues.
All my automation rules and integrations were set up on my NA version hub, which continued to handle the majority of my smart home setup. By separating the responsibilities between the two hubs, I avoided any potential conflicts and ensured a smooth operation.
One thing I learned is the importance of proper configuration and testing. Before fully integrating the EU hub, I tested each device individually to make sure everything was working as expected. This proactive approach saved me a lot of time and frustration down the line.
Overall, this setup has been a great success. I now have the flexibility to use both EU and NA devices without any compatibility issues. If anyone else is considering a similar setup, I highly recommend thorough research and testing to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Happy automating!
