Hey everyone! I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on that’s really added a special touch to my smart home setup. I’ve always loved how the sunset changes the ambiance of my living room, so I decided to create a DIY sunset theme that automatically adjusts throughout the day. 
The Project
I started by setting up a combination of RGB LED strips and smart bulbs to mimic the natural progression of a sunset. Using my smart home automation system, I programmed the lights to gradually shift from warm whites to deep oranges and reds as the sun sets. It’s been amazing to see how it creates a calming atmosphere in the evening without any manual input! 
The Setup
Here’s a quick breakdown of what I used:
- RGB LED Strips: Wrapped around the perimeter of the room for a subtle glow.
- Smart Bulbs: Integrated with my existing lighting setup for a seamless transition.
- Automation Rules: Set up using my smart home platform to trigger at sunset and adjust based on the time of year.
The Outcome
The result has been absolutely stunning! My family and I now enjoy a warm, sunset-inspired ambiance every evening, and it’s even more beautiful when viewed through the windows as the actual sunset happens outside. It’s a small touch, but it makes a big difference in how we experience our home.
