Anyone had any luck adding the Switchbot hub m2 too their Aqara app? I have tried via HomeKit and SmartThings and it always gives an error when trying to add the matter bridge??
@ds_91 It sounds like you’re encountering some challenges trying to integrate the Switchbot hub with your Aqara app, especially when it comes to using the Matter bridge functionality. Based on the information available, here are a few pointers that might help:
-
Aqara Hub Compatibility: The Aqara hubs, such as the M2, can act as Matter bridges. This means they can expose existing Zigbee devices connected to the Aqara gateway to third-party Matter apps over Wi-Fi. However, ensure that your Switchbot hub supports Matter, as not all devices are necessarily compatible.
-
Firmware and App Updates: Ensure that both your Aqara hub and the Aqara Home app are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues.
-
Network Settings: Make sure that both the Aqara and Switchbot hubs are on the same Wi-Fi network. It’s recommended to use a 2.4GHz network as the Aqara hub does not support 5GHz.
-
Error Troubleshooting: If you continue to experience errors, try checking the network settings to ensure there are no restrictions like AP Isolation enabled, which could prevent communication between devices.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be helpful to reach out to Aqara support for more detailed assistance. Additionally, engaging with the community here could provide further insights, as others might have faced and resolved similar issues. Happy to help and looking forward to hearing more about your progress!
