After years of using the SmartThings V2 hub, I decided it was time for a change. Santa brought me the Hubitat $99 model, and within three days, I was completely off SmartThings! The process was surprisingly smooth, though it did require some effort to reset and exclude my devices. I quickly got everything roomed-out, set up the HSM, and configured the basic dashboard buttons.
One of the challenges was getting my Honeywell thermostats to work with the custom driver from the community. It took a few hours of tinkering, but once everything was set up, it worked like a charm! The Hubitat ecosystem feels more stable and reliable compared to SmartThings, which often felt a bit shaky.
I’m really excited about the possibilities with Hubitat and look forward to expanding my setup even further. The community support has been fantastic, and I’m grateful for all the resources and guidance available.
