Switching from the U50 to U400 review

I have had my Aqara U50 lock for about eight months and I’ve had a couple minor problems with it. When I heard there was an opportunity to upgrade to a significantly more capable walk with a rechargeable battery. I jumped in this opportunity. The biggest thing for me as an apple user is UWB. I want to be able to have my kids watches or phones be able to unlock without having to put in a pin code.
I purchased the U400 last night and installed it this morning. I got it all set up and binded to my M3 hub. as well as set up in Apple home.

From a comparison standpoint, the mounting hardware and plate for the U400 is significantly more substantial.

For comparison sake, the external dimensions of the U400 is also significantly larger.

So far spouse approval factor is significantly higher, but I will keep this updated as the weeks progress.

I truly love that not only does the battery have a USB-C charging port on it, but the real kicker here is the charging port on the bottom of the lock itself!

Thanks for the review and your description of the advantages!
Really would love to see similar product for European market  :enqjol2bgmcitcrmcmgdyz_61:

So I let the lock charge overnight from the bottom USB port, but it only reached 48%, I removed the battery and charged it for another hour and it got up to 89%. I am not sure if this normal or not.
I have also noticed a similar problem that my U50 was having where it was not “fully” locking. It looks locked but if I press on the knob it click into place. the U50 was way worse. I have a video somewhere. I am guessing the new beta for the “unleash motor performance” will help fix this.
I also got a chance to use the UWB unlocking this morning, and was VERY surprised how fast and responsive it was.
