Switching Zigbee Bridges and Maintaining Device Connectivity

Recently, I decided to upgrade my Zigbee setup by replacing my Xbee USB stick with a CC2531 bridge. The transition seemed straightforward, but I encountered an unexpected issue where all my devices showed as ‘UNINITIALIZED - BRIDGE_UNINITIALIZED’. This was puzzling because the CC2531 appeared online, yet my devices weren’t recognizing the change.

After some research, I discovered that simply swapping the bridge wasn’t enough. The devices needed to be reinitialized with the new bridge. I started by removing each device from my system and then re-adding them one by one. This process took some time, but it worked! Each device now connects seamlessly with the CC2531.

For anyone else going through a similar switch, I recommend thoroughly checking the bridge’s firmware and ensuring all devices are properly reinitialized. It might seem tedious, but it’s worth it for a stable setup. If you’re considering this upgrade, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to share more details or troubleshoot any issues you encounter!
