Hey everyone, I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on with my smart lights!
I’ve always loved how my Govee LED strips can change colors, but I was curious if I could get them to sync up perfectly with music. Imagine all my lights dancing in harmony to my favorite tunes—it would be amazing for parties or just relaxing at home! After some research, I found out that it’s possible to create a scene where all my lights change colors simultaneously during music playback. I decided to give it a try using Home Assistant. Here’s what I did:1. Setting Up the Scenes: I created a new scene in Home Assistant specifically for music mode. I made sure to include all my Govee lights in this scene so they could change colors together.2. Automation Magic: I set up an automation that triggers when I start playing music. This automation activates the music scene, and voilà! All my lights start changing colors in sync with the beat.3. Testing and Tweaking: The first time I tested it, it was magical! All my lights were moving in perfect harmony. I even tried different music genres to see how they affected the color changes. It’s so cool to see how the lights adapt to the rhythm of the music.I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has tips to make it even better. Maybe we can explore adding more effects or integrating it with other devices. Let’s make our homes come alive with synchronized lights! ![]()
