I have a new T1 LED Strip Zigbee2MQTT converter for testing. This adds individual segment colour control for static patterns and for custom effects.
Previously with Z2M only setting your strip to a single colour was supported, this new converter features individual colour control for each 20cm segment (tested up to 3m in length but should work for up to 10m).
Also, dynamic effect patterns with up to 8 colours can be created, and these can also be set to only take effect on individual specified segments.
Home Assistant script blueprints at the moment are for creating and activating dynamic effects, and static segment colour control. The segment colour control blueprint is quite simple currently, hopefully I’ll come up with a better way to implement the variety of possible strip lengths.
It’ll hopefully be ready to be included in the next release of Zigbee2MQTT, along with the new T1M converter, and T2 bulb effects.
Just updated the converter with nice support for dynamic effect segment patterns, you can easily specify what parts of the strip the effects are applied to.
This converter has now been merged into Zigbee2MQTT for the 2.7.2 January release. All the features of T1 LED Strip are now supported including individual segment colour control, dynamic effects with segment patterns, custom effect colours, and music sync effects.
