T2 decoupled mode issue

Hi
My T2 switch controls my gate. It’s power by 24V (from the gate) and it works in Pulse Dry mode. It sends signals to close/open the gate. All fine.
Now I want to read the state of my gate’s edge sensors.
So I want to use decoupled mode and this way read state of 2 edge sensors (open/close).

I’ve tried it, by closing S1/S2 with COM by a wire. Nothing gets reported in the app. Nothing in the log nor automation for S1/S2 press works? Why?
Do I need to power switch with 230V? I assume then this is just a power and it doesn’t go anywhere else (any other pins) as I don’t want to fry my gate electronics (I have to put my gate’s COM to LOUT I assume).

I do have 2nd T2 which is powered by AC 230V (in wet mode this one) and I’ve tried the same and it doesn’t work either. Why? Do I need to set button mode to any specific (it’s disabled atm.) for it to work? Strange as I though this should work straight away.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Yes, unfortunately the T2 relay does not support S1, S2, COM control when powered by 24 volts. I describe this in my topic, you can read it. Rele T2, let's talk about it again

I understand this, but why my other T2 which is powered by 230V did not work?
Also is my understanding described above correct?
Nothing from power of 230V goes into other (than power) circuits? I have 230V at switch place so can easily change power.
Does decoupling still work when switch is in Dry/Dry Pulse mode?
Do I need any special setting for button config or can it be just disabled?
Am I correct by using S1/S2 press option in automation?
I assume my edge connects which like a mechanical switch, so they either open or close gate’s sensing circuit.

I read whole topic already, but things are still not clear.

In pulse mode, T2 works only on impulse (button pressed and released). Unfortunately, in this mode, automation does not support relay state control (On or Off). Figure 2 and B for clarification.

If you have chosen a dry contact, then the relay contacts do not have a 220 volt potential. To ensure that 220 is disconnected, also remove the jumper.

Maybe my other topic with the T2 relay will help you. There I use a pulse mode with an optocoupler. Relay T2 as a water level controller in the tank

Jumper is removed.
So in order to make it working I have to abandon puls mode. I have to use normal dry mode, with 230V power to switch and then use automation to send 1 second signal ( I had this config for some time) to the gate.
In the same time will I have then ability to read gate’s end sensors on S1 and S2? Do I need any special setting for the button (switch) type option?
Aqara manual is so poor in this regard.

Yes, you wrote everything correctly.
