I have several of these sensors. An example of use is to alarm on temperature, or to operate a de-humidifier in my garage, using a smart plug. I need my de-humidifier to shut down at a min temperature, ~5C for an example.
What I need help with is monitoring the cycles on a deep freeze or freezer. I want to be notified if my freezer are no longer cold. Or just to monitor the compressor cycles. The issue: The batteries do not like cold climate and these temp/humid units actually shut down due to the lithium battery. Is there another battery option to make these sensors work at -20C for a prolonged amount of time?

@wwoodcox You seem to be experiencing an issue with the sensor batteries not working properly in cold climates (-20°C) and wanting to know if there’s an alternative battery option. Hello, my batteries last me three to four months. The battery is cheap. I place the sensor in a small jar with a tight lid (screws on). Maybe it’s the humidity + frost that eats up the battery in the freezer.
