Temperature & Humidity Sensors repeatedly going offline with G350 – should I return them?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice regarding two Aqara Temperature & Humidity Sensors that keep going offline.

My setup

Everything was purchased less than a week ago:

  • Aqara Camera Hub G350
  • Aqara Camera G100
  • Aqara Cube T1
  • 2 × Aqara Temperature & Humidity Sensors

The setup is installed in a small studio, so distances are very short.

The G350 and G100 have been completely stable, and the Cube T1 paired with the G350 works reliably, including when triggering automations.

The problem only affects the two Temperature & Humidity Sensors.

The problem

Both temperature sensors repeatedly lose their connection and appear offline.

This happens even though:

  • they are located less than 2 metres from the G350;
  • I have replaced the original batteries with new ones;
  • I have successfully removed/reset/re-paired the sensors;
  • after pairing, they work normally for a while;
  • then they eventually go offline again.

So far, changing batteries and re-pairing has not solved the problem.

What confuses me is that the Cube T1 remains connected to the same G350 without any apparent Zigbee reliability issue.

What I found while researching the issue

I searched Reddit and the Aqara Community and found several reports describing very similar behaviour with Aqara Temperature & Humidity Sensors, including with hubs other than the G350.

Reported symptoms include:

  • Temperature & Humidity Sensors randomly going offline while other Aqara devices remain connected;
  • sensors disconnecting despite being very close to the hub;
  • replacing the battery not permanently solving the problem;
  • sensors coming back after re-pairing or pressing the button, only to disconnect again later;
  • reports of this behaviour going back several years and involving different Aqara hubs;
  • similar reports still appearing in the Aqara Community in 2025–2026.

Because this behaviour appears to have been reported with several generations of Aqara hubs, I am wondering whether this is a recurring reliability issue with these particular Temperature & Humidity Sensors rather than something specific to the new G350.

My question

Has anyone experienced this specifically with the G350 + Aqara Temperature & Humidity Sensors?

More importantly, for people who experienced the same repeated disconnections with these sensors on other Aqara hubs: did you ever find a permanent solution?

Since all of this equipment is less than a week old and still within the return period, I need to decide whether it makes sense to keep troubleshooting or simply return the two temperature sensors and use a different model/technology instead.

If this is a known issue that has persisted across different Aqara hubs for years, I would rather return them now than repeatedly re-pair them or wait for a firmware fix that may never address the underlying problem.

Any long-term experience with these sensors would be particularly helpful.

Hi there.how do you have connected you G350?by usb or power suply adaptor?i own 2 sensores myself and they both works perfectly with my M1S gen2 gataway.did you contact aqara support?by the way did you check if there is an update for G350 or those sensors?as from what you describe it my be some compatibility issue and that should be reported to aqara support.

Thanks both for the replies. The G350 is powered via a USB-C PD wall charger (Ugreen 60W / Belkin 45W), not through a computer. I don’t have any zero-fire Aqara devices, just the G350, G100, and Cube T1.

On the environment: like a lot of homes, mine is a mix of wood, glass, and metal, so there’s no way to create a metal-free zone. One sensor sits on an open tray/shelf next to some metal panels (not an enclosed box, the top is largely open) - I actually had a Xiaomi Bluetooth temperature sensor in that exact same spot before, with zero transmission issues (same 2.4GHz band as Zigbee, though I know BLE and Zigbee aren’t directly comparable protocols). The other sensor is mounted inside a metal roller shutter, aluminum frame, and the glass has a partial anti-UV film that looks iridescent/metalized.

The G350/G100 not having issues isn’t really comparable either, since they’re mains-powered with much stronger radios.

These Aqara sensors measure the indoor/outdoor differential to automate shutters, AC, and ventilation, so I can’t move them far from the window. If the window sensor keeps dropping even with a wide open plastic shield added, I’ll relocate it to the bathroom instead.

Aqara support also emailed me with the same suggestions, I’m testing repositioning and will report back.

Yeah but your environment should be an issue as one of my sensors is on the bathroom my M3 is near to my entrance door and in between I have on the kitchen the led strip with make the bridge but the zigbee signal pass tru 2 walls and I still get my sensor with excellent signal so my guess is that the G350 doesn’t communicate well with those sensors

Thanks both for the extra input.

On signal level: as noted in my post above, both sensors show “Excellent” for signal and battery (firmware 0.0.0_0005). On the environment: both sensors are in the same room as the G350, with no wall between them at all - 2.5m and 2.7m away. So this is actually a more favorable setup than the two-wall case described. The only other notable third-party smart devices I have are Philips Hue LEDs and Tado V3+ stations - nothing unusual or unexpected.

Given all that - excellent signal, same room, no wall, fresh batteries, re-pairing done - I think I’ve reached the limit of what I can reasonably test myself. These are consumer-grade devices, and I’m not going to spend several days troubleshooting further. This lines up more with coccolino_26’s theory: a G350 to T&H sensor communication issue rather than an environment problem - yet G350 + G100 + Cube T1 = 100% flawless.

I’m waiting on a reply from Aqara support, who emailed me directly. Thanks again for the help!

Hello,
A short conclusion to close out this thread, and thanks again to everyone who took the time to reply to me here.
After several days of testing (new batteries, re-pairings, two G350 restarts, keeping the sensors as far from metal as possible, a successful “Normal link confirmed” test each time, and signal history shared with support), I had another disconnection again this morning.
My conclusion, and I think it’s worth sharing: it isn’t that my environment is unsuited to the sensor, it’s that the sensor isn’t suited to a real environment. Any apartment has metal everywhere (windows, lamps, furniture); requiring a fully clear zone for reliable operation is effectively asking for lab conditions, not normal household use. The G350, G100 and Cube T1 have run flawlessly since day one with zero adjustment — that’s the level of reliability I expected from the temperature sensors too, and it wasn’t the case here.
I’m not against paying more for a sturdier sensor (a slightly larger format like some other brands use, AA battery instead of a coin cell, optional e-ink display) if it means a product that’s reliable over time, rather than one that needs ongoing maintenance and constant monitoring.
For me, home automation should mean going through a reasonable learning period and then being “plug, play and forget” — which is worth paying for in a more capable €40 product.

I am really sorry that you couldn’t make your sensors to work correctly.still I never heard that metal could do so much interference on an zigbee signal.i think you got 2 faulty sensores because my sensors that I have works perfectly and since I have them I didn’t had problems with.

Hello, purely theoretically I can’t understand, I have more than 30 temperature sensors in the house (square old and newer T1, also round MI Aqara), I didn’t have any critical problems. True, I had an M2 gateway and eventually an M3. I suspect that the problem is with the gateway in the G350 camera.
What did the support service tell you?
