Temperature Monitoring with Shelly: A Smart Solution

I’ve recently been exploring ways to integrate smart technology into my home, and I must say, the journey has been both exciting and enlightening. One of my latest projects involves using Shelly devices to monitor and display temperatures in our pufferspeicher, a system we’ve recently installed alongside our water-fed fireplace. This setup is designed to help my mother keep track of the temperatures in real-time, allowing her to efficiently manage the wood supply as needed.

Initially, I thought this would be a straightforward project—using a Shelly addon to measure temperatures and display them on a Shelly Wall Display. However, after some research, I discovered that the addon might not be as versatile as I hoped. It seems the addon is primarily designed for controlling connected relays, which left me wondering if I’d need to invest in additional hardware like a Shelly UNI to make this project work.

I’m currently in the planning phase and would love to hear from anyone who has successfully implemented a similar setup. Whether it’s tips on how to configure the Shelly devices for temperature monitoring or advice on choosing the right hardware, I’m all ears! It’s a bit nerve-wracking to dive into this without more hands-on experience, but the potential payoff of having a sleek, functional temperature monitoring system makes it all worthwhile.

If anyone has any insights or recommendations, I’d be incredibly grateful. This project is a great opportunity to learn more about Shelly’s capabilities and how they can be tailored to meet specific needs. Looking forward to hearing from you all!
