Temperature T1 in Home Assistant - no battery reading (battery 'unknown')

I’ve a bunch of Aqara temperature sensors - some of them very old. I recently purchased a bundle of the new T1’s.
One of them is linked into Apple Home via the POE camera G5 - it’s reporting all the sensors to Apple Home (including battery reading).
The second new temperature sensor was out of range of the G5 and I wanted to collect historic temperatures in Home Assistant for this sensor so I just added via Zigbee. Temperature / Pressure and Humidity is all showing up in HA but battery is Unknown. I’ve repaired the connection, replaced the battery etc but with no result. All the older zigbee temperature sensors are connected via the same zigbee router and then to the coordinator.
Not sure what else to do. I could try to switch one of the other newer T1’s to Zigbee and do the same to see if it’s a specific device/sensor issue. I suspect I’ll get the same result.

Anyone else having the same issue with new T1’s added directly to Home Assistant using Zigbee.

Thanks in advance

Dave

@renwick_d It might take some time for the battery status to update. According to community discussions, information about the battery status can take up to two days to update. This information comes from community discussions and user experience summaries and may vary by environment. Please verify carefully. You could wait a couple of days to see if the battery reading appears. If the issue persists, you can contact customer support for further assistance. This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please click here” to create a ticket.

For anyone struggling with this issue (or something that feels like it), I managed to resolve it with the purchase of a Home Assistant Connect ZBT-2.

I was using a Conbee II which I assume hadn’t been updated for a number of years and I figured that would try a new co-ordinator device.

Ordered device yesterday, installed today. Migrated all devices seamlessly. I reconfigured the problematic Aqara sensors which didn’t result in any change. I then removed and then re-added them. Not only did the ZBT-2 seem to discover and configure much quicker than my old Conbee II but I detected the battery level immediately.
