Hi everyone, I’ve created an unboxing, installation, and testing video covering the new and very nice door & window sensor called Strips, from Sensative. Anyone who is about to buy some magnetic sensors should really have a look at this new one as it’s just… cool
The installation process was surprisingly straightforward. I simply adhered the sensor to the door frame and the magnet to the door itself. The setup within the OpenHAB interface was equally seamless, thanks to the Z-Wave binding. The sensor’s compact design blends perfectly with my existing decor, making it nearly invisible to the naked eye.
One feature I particularly appreciate is the low battery indicator. It provides a clear alert when it’s time to replace the battery, ensuring uninterrupted monitoring. The sensor’s sensitivity is also adjustable, which is a great touch for different door types or usage patterns.
I’ve been using this sensor for a few weeks now, and it’s been rock solid. No false triggers or missed detections, which is a big plus for a sensor that’s constantly in use. The range is impressive, and I haven’t encountered any connectivity issues.
If you’re in the market for a sleek, reliable door or window sensor, I highly recommend checking out the Sensative Strips. They’ve definitely elevated my home automation setup to the next level!
Let me know if you have any questions about it. Happy automating
