I recently added a second Mini Switch to my setup after seeing how useful my first one was. I didn’t expect these little buttons to add much, and I purchased the first one on a flash sale just to try it out. I was really surprised how useful these little things can be after playing around with it though!
I now have one in my Bedroom on the underside of my headboard where I can reach up and activate it while laying in bed. I have 3 automations setup for it. One single click of the button activates a scene in HomeKit (turning off all the lights), closes the garage door, arms the security system, pauses all media on Apple TVs or HomePods, and turns off the bedroom projector (if it is on). It is basically our going to bed shut down for the entire house.
A double click of the button activates our theater mode lighting scene for the room, turns on the projector (using Harmony Hub), wakes the apple TV, and even positions our adjustable beds (using an IR/RF Blaster) for the reclining position.
A long press of the button “sets the mood” so to speak and adjusts lighting in the room, pauses the Apple TV if it is playing, and starts a specific playlist from Apple Music on the HomePods. #businesstime
