The product specifications of the look good buy every time I buy one they are awful and just collect dust in the box

the product specs look good but when I purchase one it is always lacking and ends up not being used and collecting dust.

They could have great products if they only had designers that actually used them in real life when designing them.

Door bells - I have 4 for my own personal use but can not use them for rental properties as they require the chime which can be lost/damaged on rental properties - we have 60 Ring doorbells and wanted to replace them with Apple home doorbells but can not because of the chime - couldn’t use Ecobee because no Apple secure video - will have to wait until Apple releases their doorbell

Locks - tried U100 or U50 but could not rekey to our master key system - have over 100 Schlage Encode Plus locks

Pet Feeder - tried it but it was so long ago (2022) I can’t remember why but now use Furbo

Tried the T1 light strip (2023) - can’t remember why I didn’t like and am sticking with Hue

P2 Presence sensor (2023) and FP1E presence sensor (2024) - don’t remember why I don’t like them but I walk by them sitting on a shelf in my closet every day

H2 2 button light switch March 2026 - will not set up - it says there is no thread network. I have over 25 thread accessories from other manufacturers and several thread hubs - 8 homepods, 1 Homey Pro, 1 Hoobs in this home
I says I need an aqara hub (it will not go into set up mode - held down switch for minutes at a time and flipped switch on and of 50 times but still will not go into setup mode)

M3 Hub (Today) - I bought the M3 hub to try to set up the H2 switch
I set the hub up in the aqqra app and homekit
The hub shows in apple home - in the aqara app it shows the hub online but they app give me a network error and the app takes for ever to load - sometimes shows Error Domain=Failed to download
Code=2003 “(null)”
My router shows the hub is connected and I can ping it

Another dissapointing days trying to use an aqara product

So I have good news! The new G400 chime can be replaced! But you definitely need to understand that the G4/G410 is not developed mainly for rental properties…. But you can use it of course! Just mount it save - nearly everything can be damaged by wrong use

You totally miss the point. I don’t care if the chime can be replaced - I won’t be buying any more of them. The ones I purchased, I will use at my own houses. They can’t be deployed in rental units. We have been using for Ring doorbells for ever a dozen years with no problems and no parts that can be lost or damaged. The only thing they are missing is Apple Home support. When someone comes out with a model that has home support 9and they will - Apple itself is expected to release their own and Ecobee will be forced to update theirs to suport secure video. When one of these things happen, we will roll them out to our properties. It’s just a matter of when.

one other thing - 3 of the 5 g400s I am currently using 9
the other 2 are in the box collecting dust) are awful. They are always always showing “no response” in Apple home. I can view them in the Aqara app but they don’t work with Apple. I have to unplug them from power, plung them back in and the will show up for 24-48 hours and then “no response” and the cycle repeats again every day or 2.
Aqara is poorly designed in both Hardware as well as Software

Support is terrible - takes days for a reply and their answer does no address the issue

No it’s not. I have been trying to install a H2 switch for 2 weeks. Support NO help. I purchased a M3 hub and another H2 switch to try and install it. The hub installed in the app and Apple home. The switched will not. I spent all day trying and they won’t work. In between trying to take a break I installed 7 Tapo and 1 Eve switch. Tapo and Eve were seamless and installed in less than a minute each. 8 minutes to install 8 other brands and 2 weeks time and hundreds of dollars and can’t even install 1

Hello, are the switch and gateway intended for the European region?

Has the switch been added to the Aqara app?

it will not add to the app. I select add I select add accessory. I scan the code. it then shows the M3 hub (which has been added to the aqara app) as the only option to add it with. It then attempts to add it but it times out and fails. I then attempt to try adding it again but it takes an hour to get the h2 back in set up mode - try holdin the button down for minutes (much longer than the 10 seconds) and try to keep fast switch it on/off hundres of times but it wont go into setup mode - I i come back to it hours later and try again - it takes another 30 minutes to go into setup after alternating holding the button bown and fast pressing for 30 minutes. Then try tol add accessory again and it times out - an endless loop. I have tried this with 2 different h2 switches thing the first was cdefecctive but neither will work

Are you adding in Thread or Zigbee mode?

Connection diagram with zero?

Are you using an Android or iPhone when connecting?

I purchased them from Amazon - they wouldn’t have the European version shipping in the US - just checked the hub in the app and there is nothing to show a a region. Also, before you ask, the firmware is up to date 4.5.40-0019 and the hub is connected to Apple homekit

There is one thing that I do find odd.Occasionaly when I have the Aqara app open, the app hass a popup network error - the hub (the only device in this location in the Aqara app does show online - I I hit the try again and the popup goes away. I don’t know if Aqaua is trying to send neferious information and my isp, router or iphone is blocking those packets

In which region is Aqara Home launched?

US - New York
