Third Party Zigbee Support

I understand that the Aqara M3 hub only supports Aqara Zigbee devices. For those of us who want to build a smart home which also needs to include non Aqara Zigbee devices, the M3 hub may not be the best solution. Aqara, please consider to support of other Zigbee devices.

Thank you for your suggestion! Due to compatibility considerations with third-party Zigbee devices, we currently have no plans to support this feature. However, our tech team is continuously evaluating its feasibility.

I would have liked to have known that before the purchase… well, which you can easily return to Amazon… I bought the hub 3 and now send it back.

You can use the Zemismart M1 Hub with Matter or the MOES Tuya Zigbee Matter Thread Gateway to connect some thirdparty zigbee devices like zigbee smart sockets via Matter to Aqara

Thank you for your reply! Our sales team has checked and confirmed that this point is mentioned in the official Amazon product description for the M3. May we ask which specific page you purchased it from? If you could provide the link or a screenshot, it would help us improve the user experience and avoid any future misunderstandings.

I created an account just to reply to this thread. I also was unaware before my purchase that Aqara decided to use an open standard, but lock out 3rd party devices. I specifically bought the Aqara hub as it had good reviews AND it was using an open standard. I am quite disappointed in this decision, and am pursuing a refund for all my Aqara devices. The hub, 5 contact sensors, 3 motion sensors, 3 buttons, and 5 temperature/humidity sensors. I really bought into the Aqara ecosystem, but when I wanted to add a tilt sensor for my garage door, I was shocked to find it wasn’t compatable.
