Tips for Remote Camera Operation: Seeking Advice for a Seamless Experience

I’ve been using a mix of Blink Mini cameras, Amazon Cloud Cams, and Ring Doorbells for remote monitoring at two properties, and I’m really happy with how they’ve performed so far. However, as I plan to transition to an all-Blink setup, I have a few concerns that I’d love to get some insights on.

First, I’m curious about the reliability of the Blink Sync Module. If it were to go down, would it disable all the other cameras? I’d like to know if the Blink plan can override any issues with the sync module.

Second, I’m thinking about the longevity of the Blink doorbell battery. It’s supposed to last two years, but I’m wondering if that holds up, especially since I can’t easily change the batteries when I’m away.

Lastly, I’m concerned about cameras disconnecting during power glitches. I’ve had some success with power cycling, but it’s not practical when I’m not on-site. One idea I had was using smart plugs to power cycle key devices remotely.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has tackled similar challenges or has tips to ensure a smooth experience with the Blink setup. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
