Alright, so full disclosure—I’m waaay too lazy to do things manually when my tech can do it for me. I’ve been playing around with Aqara for the past few months, and I gotta say, it’s a game changer for like me who want max comfort with minimal effort.
Here are 5 of my favorite lazy-but-brilliant automations I set up using Aqara devices:
-
Auto lights when I walk in (no phone, no switch, just living my best hands-free life). Aqara Motion Sensor + smart bulbs did the trick.
-
Bedroom blinds close automatically when the sun hits directly—so I can sleep in like a vampire. Thanks, Light Sensor.
-
“Movie Time” scene: trigger via wireless mini switch. Lights dim, AC adjusts, even my soundbar gets the memo.
-
Forgot to lock the door again? No worries. Door & Window Sensor alerts me AND triggers a notification to my watch if it’s open more than 5 mins past 10pm.
-
Shower steam makes the bathroom feel like a sauna? I rigged the Humidity Sensor to trigger a fan when it hits 70%. Bam, perfect timing every time.
Honestly, the whole Aqara setup felt kinda intimidating at first, but once I started small and built momentum, it got fun real quick.
Would love to hear what other passive-aggressive (or just passive) automations you’ve set up. Hit me with your laziest but smartest hacks!
